Greyfest

We took Keeper to Greyfest on Saturday. If you are not familiar with Greyfest, it is an annual social gathering and fundraiser for SEGA. It was at the GA International Horse Park. The weather was beautiful. Keeper met a lot of greyhounds and a lot of people. He was such a good boy and rested peacefully in a crate in the shade with his foster brothers and sister while we worked some of the events. I hope his forever family brings him back next year. He seemed to enjoy himself.

Flashback

We are enjoying some wonderful weather these days. I still have some pictures of Keeper's snow adventures. Here are 2 of them. My son spent a lot of time making a very large snowball. We let the hounds out to play and Keeper was very interested in the snowball. My son was worried he would smash it. I assured him Keeper only wanted to sniff it and see what it was. You can see from the pictures I was mistaken. Much to my son's dismay, Keeper took great joy in smashing the snowball. We all had to laugh watching him have so much fun.

These days Keeper is enjoying trips to the park and walks under the sunny skies.

The Joy of Squeaky Toys

Keeper loves squeaky toys. We found one that is relatively durable and can stand up to his level of play. You can see how he loves to play with it. He "makes music" and we laugh at the variety of sounds he can get from the toy. He will lie down and squeak it, carry it around and squeak it and pounce on it too. When this lucky boy finds his forever home, his favorite toy will certainly accompany him.

Wouldn't you like to meet him?

Olympic Contender?

The Olympics may be over, but Keeper is a contender for the next Olympic Games -- only if roaching is an event. This boy is so cute. He can roach anywhere and anytime. He will roach to beg for a belly rub or sometimes just to sleep. He gets so relaxed and just grunts and groans as he settles. He makes us laugh and we know he has learned to enjoy his retirement. Wouldn't you like to see how he can make you smile?

What a Difference a Week Makes!

From cold and snowy to 70 degrees and sunny - all in a week. Keeper has proven he can enjoy himself regardless of the weather. Last weekend he played in the snow and today he basked in the sunshine. It was contagious. Pretty soon all the hounds wanted a space on the deck. We pulled out some dog beds and all of them soaked up some rays. What a beautiful sight on a beautiful day.

Having "Snow" Much Fun!

Keeper really enjoyed the snow we had here. I don't know if he had ever seen snow before. We got a lot of nice pictures. I will spread them across multiple posts. He had so much fun running with his foster siblings and exploring the "cold white stuff".

He Even Washes the Dishes

One of the things we like to teach our fosters is how to politely eat with the pack. You can see Keeper is patient as he waits his turn to be fed. This video is a little long, but I wanted to show you how well he is doing in this area. You have to be as patient as they are! If you look closely, you can see all of them licking their lips and smacking in anticipation of being fed. You probably cannot hear it, but they all do it while I prepare the food. Please stay with the video to the end. If you don't, you will miss the best part.

Keeper has a cute habit of helping me wash the dog bowls after each meal. It is so sweet and funny. I don't even remember when he started doing it. If you need a dog with mealtime manners and who will help with the dishes, then Keeper may be the hound for you.

Heads or Tails?

Keeper has certainly learned to enjoy the comforts of soft dog beds. He is curled up so tightly you can hardly tell which end is which. If you look closely, you can see the gleam of one eye. Look at how shiny and beautiful his coat is. It is so soft too. He is a very sweet boy and continues to do well in our home.

Keeping Warm

We mentioned in a previous post that Keeper went to a field trial to watch his foster brothers and sister run. It was a cold and windy day, so we let Keeper wear Noble's red coat when he was outside. Doesn't he look handsome in red?

When you meet this sweet boy, he will warm your heart.

Still Going "Greyt"

Keeper is doing well in his foster home. He is a funny and sweet boy who has become even more affectionate as he has learned about life with a family. He gives great kisses. He went to a field trial to watch his foster brothers and sister do some lure coursing. He was very interested in the lure. I could tell he wanted a chance to run! He enjoyed all the attention and was friendly to everyone he met. He rode well in the car too.

Keeper enjoys going to the ball fields to run and will chase and catch tennis balls as long as you will throw them. His house manners are excellent as are his leash walking habits. More pictures and some video to come soon.

If you are looking for a sweet, loving and playful companion, Keeper is your boy.

Do you see them yet?

Keeper has enlisted the help of his 2 foster brothers and his foster sister to "keep" on the lookout for his forever family. This sweet boy will be a wonderful addition to a lucky family. Are you the one to take him home?

Football Games

We've told you how well Keeper has adjusted to life in his foster home. This is his idea of how one should watch the bowl games. You can see he has no trouble relaxing or asking for affection.
